My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 5

Friday, February 28, 2014

It's the final day of sneak peeks for the My Craft Spot stamp release party.  Each day, we've been showcasing FIVE new stamp sets and THREE new sets of metal dies.  However, the fun doesn't end today as tomorrow, ALL new products will be revealed - AND available for purchase.  Woo hoo!  We'll celebrate with the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party blog hop - with prizes at EACH stop along the way!!  What a great way to get some new product!

I've got two projects again today.  I've been creating a number of tissue boxes lately.  This one was created with an abundance of love as an extra little something to give to a friend at her mother's funeral. I used a FREE Kerri Bradford file for the tissue box (file available HERE), cutting the box from pretty patterned paper.  I added a mat from coordinating paper and then created the gorgeous doily from one of the NEW Tiny Doilies 2 metal dies.  These dies are beautiful!!

I stamped the doily with one of the NEW Simply Sentiments stamps and used the Small Alphabet metal dies to cut the little butterfly, to which I added a single little gem.  I finished things off by creating a pretty border for the bottom of the box using one of the Fancy Edges metal dies.

For my next project, I created a bright and fun little gift bag using a cut file from (?).  The word art was created with the NEW Big Words metal dies.  I dressed the box up a bit more by adding a doily from the NEW Tiny Doilies 2 set.  The yellow inset was created with the original Tiny Doilies metal dies.  I finished things off with a Snow White crinkle ribbon bow.

Be sure to head over to My Craft Spot to see the rest of the design team creations.  While you're there don't forget to leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: the Stamping All Around Spring stamp set.

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 4

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Welcome to Day 4 of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!  This week, we're showcasing FIVE new stamp sets and THREE new sets of metal dies - ending with the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party blog hop - with prizes at EACH stop along the way!!

For those of you with some of the "Jar" line of products, you'll be delighted to know that My Craft Spot is releasing a NEW Jar Full of Flowers stamp set!  In fact, I had so much fun with this new set that I've got two projects to share today!

To create my first card, I used three of the NEW Jar Full of Flowers stamps to create some patterned paper.  I then cut the paper into 1 inch squares.  I also created shadows for each of the squares using some black cardstock.  I layered these on a red mat which I adhered to my black card base.  I imported the stamp shapes into Silhouette and then created an offset, which I cut from white cardstock before stamping with red ink.

For the sentiment, I also used one of the NEW Jar Full of Flowers stamps.  I hand cut the banner and added it to the card.  I then popped the red flower on the top and added a double bow created with black jute string.

My second card is a quick and easy one - and I must admit that I completely lifted this idea from Stampin' Up.   I simply stamped the flowers, using the NEW Jar Full of Flowers stamps, in a variety of colours, leaving a blank space for my sentiment.  The sentiment is also from the NEW Jar Full of Flowers set.  I was so happy with how things turned out (and with how quick it was to make these cards) that I made three of them!  (Only two are pictured here.)

Please be sure to head over to My Craft Spot to see what the rest of the design team has created.  While you're there, be sure to leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: Tiny Tags metal dies!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 3

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

It's Day 3 of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!  This week, we're showcasing FIVE new stamp sets and THREE new sets of metal dies - ending with the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party blog hop - with prizes at EACH stop along the way!!

Yesterday, we shared with you the NEW Scrapping Life - Everyday stamp set and coordinating Scrapping Life Cards metal dies.  The NEW Scrapping Life - Calendar stamp set just adds to the fun and is designed to coordinate perfectly with the dies as well.

My husband and I met almost 25 years ago - on March 15, 1989 (Ides of March).  Each year, I give him a card on the "anniversary" of our first meeting.  I love that I can use My Craft Spot products to personalize my cards!

To start, I created my card base and mats. The white mat was embossed with a Stampin' Up chevron folder.  The blue mat was scored multiple times to create a lined paper look and then given a notebook border with one of the Fancy Edges metal dies. To create my clipboard, I imported an image of the NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies into Silhouette and used the offset feature to create a shadow, which I cut from black cardstock.  The clip was a free clipart file.  Once those were cut, I used the Scrapping Life Cards metal dies to create the white page for my clipboard, stamping it with the NEW Scrapping Life - Calendar set.  I used the stamps for the "1989" on the little tab too, which was cut using a Tiny Tags metal die, and for "March" on the banner which I cut with a Ribbon Banners - Straight metal die.

The red circle around "15" is a stamp included in the set too!  I also added a fun arrow and a heart, both of which were created with the NEW Scrapping Life Cards metals dies.  I finished everything off with some Lemon Tart baker's twine.  Now I just have to wait until March 15 to let my husband know how much I love him!  (Actually, he already knows as I tell him a number of times a day!!)

If you haven't done so already, please head over to My Craft Spot to check out the rest of the fabulous creations for today's sneak peek!  While you're there, be sure to leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: sequins!

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 2

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

It's Day 2 of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!  This week, we're showcasing FIVE new stamp sets and THREE new sets of metal dies - ending with the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party blog hop - with prizes at EACH stop along the way!!

Today, we're sharing projects created with the NEW Scrapping Life - Everyday stamp set and co-ordinating NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these new sets!!  There are so many combinations to be made with the stamps and the dies are fabulous!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that our dog was not well.  Unfortunately, on February 13, we had to bid our final farewell.  It was absolutely heart-breaking.  Nickel and my middle guy were the best of friends.  In fact, we had got Nickel especially for Jack and the two were inseparable since the day we adopted our beloved beagle.  I made this card especially for Jack.  February 13 was indeed the saddest day of his life.

After rounding the top corners of my card base using a Stampin' Up corner rounder, I used the NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies to cut the blue background as well as the white photo frame.  The background was embossed with a Darice clouds folder.  One of the NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies was used for the heart too.  The grass was created with one of the Fancy Edges metal dies.  The beagle silhouette is a clip-art image which I found online and traced and cut using my Silhouette.

If you look closely, you will see that the heart is broken.  I used one of the Fancy Edges metal dies to break the heart.  I used the NEW Scrapping Life - Everyday stamp set to create my sentiment and finished things off with some Caribbean sequins in the bottom right corner.

Don't forget to head over to My Craft Spot to check out the rest of the sneak peeks made with the NEW Scrapping Life - Everyday stamp set and co-ordinating NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies. While you're there, leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: the Cute Critters stamp set.

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 1

Monday, February 24, 2014

Welcome to the first day of an exciting week!  The My Craft Spot design team has been hard at work creating with Kimberly's FIVE new stamp sets and THREE new sets of metal dies!  Each day, we'll showcase something new and end things with a bang on Saturday when we take part in the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party blog hop - with prizes at EACH stop along the way!!

The Big Sentiments stamp set was such a hit in the last release that My Craft Spot now has Big Sentiments 2!!  I LOVE these stamps!!  For my project, I created a fun little shaped birthday card using a slice of cake from Miss Kate Cuttables.  (After I put it together, I realized that I messed up on the layers.  The cake is supposed to be smiling!  Oops!  He's still cute though.)

I embossed the blue background and then stamped a NEW Big Sentiments 2 sentiment on a banner created with My Craft Spot's Ribbon Banners - Arched metal dies.

Please head over to My Craft Spot to see the AMAZING projects that the rest of the design team has created.  While you're there, remember to leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: the Happy Easter stamp set.

You're Out of This World!

Monday, February 10, 2014

The past week has been quite difficult.  Last Sunday, we learned that the mother of one of my dearest friends was tragically killed in a horrific parking lot tragedy while staying in Florida (CNN Report).  My friend is shattered and I would like to ask those of you who pray to offer up a prayer for the Vanderlaan/Koopmans family - as well as all those affected.  My heart grieves with them.

We also learned that our beloved beagle is in heart failure.  Last week, he suddenly collapsed in the kitchen.  I thought he had died as he was completely unresponsive.  It was awful!!  However, he did come to and we've had a couple of trips to the vet, learning that he'll (hopefully) be with us another 3-6 months.  For now, with medication, he's happy but we've got some pretty tough decisions to make in the near future.

We have a sketch challenge for you at My Craft Spot this week.  With all that has been going on - plus winter storms with power outages, I did somehow manage to find a bit of time to craft and made a Valentine's card for one of my boys.

I based my card on the posted sketch which was designed by my talented design team sister, Heather.  The fun astronaut cut is a file from Lettering Delights, although I changed the flag to read "love u", cutting the letters with My Craft Spot's Small Alphabet metal dies.  The mat was embossed with a Cuttlebug Stars folder.  I stamped a sentiment from Build a Valentine and used two Ribbon Banners - Wavy cuts for my banner.  I finished things off with some Caribbean sequins.

Please head over to My Craft Spot to check out the rest of the wonderful design team inspiration - and to link up your own project for a chance to win this week's prize!
